Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar
I just aquired a 1997 les paul studio, I still wanted to share my experience with potential buyers, i have had a strat since 1998 and thought it was a good guitar, but after 5 minutes on my les paul, there are no words that can describe the feeling….the feel, the sound…, if you cant afford a more expensive les paul, this one will give you the sounds without breaking your wallet, i know i am selling my strat now…there will be no going back for me….you can be sure you are getting the real thing, only without the frills…
I am very, very impressed. First of all, mine is in the Desertburst finish and it is absolutely gorgeous. The way the light reflects off the paint job makes it even more beautiful.
Sure, neck and body binding would have been nice, but in my opinion, the lack of binding is the only thing that differs from the Standard. The stock pickups are very nice; you can get very versatile sounds out of them, but I still would like to upgrade to some ‘57 Classics. The tuners are pretty nice, but I would have like gold ones better that the greenish ivory-looking ones. Aside from everything else, this guitar is solid as a ROCK! The first night I got it, I accidentally released my strap lock, which sent my baby crashing to the tile floor. When I picked it up, all that was wrong with it was a cracked knob! Incredible.
